Gritco’s vacublast series offer a safe, clean, contained blasting solution for spot repair, welding seams and/or situ blasting in confined or critical working environments where dust- and abrasive pollution has to be avoided.
Gritco’s high quality blast pots
Vacuum blasting requires the use of high quality blast pots accommodated with suction units with the right capacity to handle the selected abrasive and blasting pressure, bridging the distance between the unit and the worker.
Gritco’s aftercoolers
With Vacuum blasting the abrasive is being reused. Therefore using a professional Gritco aftercooler (possibly fitted with additional filters) is essential to prevent blast pot blockage and secure a constant metered flow. The cool and dry air also maximizes filter cleaning.
Gritco’s personal protection
As there is no immediate risk – dust and abrasive are sealed off by the brush head – the vacuum blasting operator can be sufficiently protected with safety goggles, gloves and hearing protection.
The right choice of abrasives
Vacuum blasting requires the use of reusable abrasives. In order to maintain the correct operating mixture the upper- or coarse grain must regularly be replenished. Depending on the application glass beads, aluminum oxide, steel grit or other abrasives can be used.
The right compressor
From 1.9 to 2.9 m3/min of compressed air is needed for the blasting itself (more info here). When a pneumatic suction unit is used, the suction unit’s air consumption must be added. This amounts to 2.2 to 5.4m3/min. depending on the specific model.
