In vacuum blasting, the dust and abrasive is immediately sucked back from the surface within a brush head. In this way, dust-free blasting is achieved without causing any nuisance to the surrounding area due to blasting media. However, the working speed is lower than for open blasting and therefore this method is mainly used for spot-repairs, welds and in-situ blasting.
Besides a good blast pot, it is important that the suction unit has the right capacity for the chosen blast media, the blasting pressure and the distance to the object to be blasted. The filter of the suction unit must also be suitable for providing the right vacuum over a long period of time.
